  • Rosy - 28 year old Female   Last logged on 18-Feb-2019

My career to date has largely been in teaching, nannying, babysitting and tutoring, and working with children is where my passion lies. I have also worked for a number of private families providing English and Maths tutoring and I have also worked as an agency nanny to a couple of families. Each of these would happily provide excellent written references. My strengths lie in my organisational and communication skills, adaptability, huge energy and enthusiasm. I am proactive and reliable whilst being patient and understanding of the childrens’ needs, with a great natural aptitude to build relationships with all. I am punctual and able to work well in pressurised environments, whilst remaining focused on the task in hand. I am also creative and have a great passion for art and crafts, as well as having a great love for sport, having played netball, hockey, tennis and athletics for 1st team and county level at school. I have been working as for the past 2 years at Miss Daisy’s Nursery in Sloane Square, London, (voted the top Nursery in the UK) but I have recently moved over to Brisbane to live with my boyfriend. I am extremely excited about embarking on my next adventure, working for a lovely new family, looking after their children! I genuinely love working with children and I can't wait to find a new job in Brisbane. I am one of six children and now have ten nephews and nieces, so I am also used to being around lots of small children outside of school and nanny work! :) I believe my boundless enthusiasm is a great asset to the children that I look after and I am always ready and willing to get involved in whichever aspect of nanny life that is required of me.

I am from the country Philippines. I just arrived in Australia on 24th of January of this year holding a student visa. I am studying at Queensford College taking up Certificate IV of Ageing Support. My class schedule is during thursdays and fridays. Back in the Philippines I have my nieces and nephews aging 1-9 years old. They are my cousins' children and they often asked me a favor to babysit them during my available time if they need to do something important. I usually play with them dress up dolls and cooking with the girls and with the boys, we usually play cars and robots. Sometimes I am helping them do their assignments and help my cousin to feed them and tack them to bed. I usually sing them lullabies. I have also experience in working with the neonates and infants because I work at a hospital in the Philippines and assigned in the area for a year. I can offer proper neonatal/infant feeding, bathing neonates, changing diapers and providing the necessary services for them. I want to apply for this job because I love working with children. If I am with them, it feels like I am taking care of my nieces and nephews back in the Philippines. I can also do housework like cooking, doing laundry, ironing, and cleaning. It is my hobby to watch documentaries in youtube about nature, animals especially dogs and animals in the wild, and about science. After arriving in the country, calling my families in the Philippines and having a videochat with them became my hobby because I really love them and misses them so much.

  • Julie - 48 year old Female   Last logged on 05-Feb-2019

Hi, I am a kind, caring, honest, mature (48), reliable and responsible mum of 4 daughters - two in their late teens and two who have left home. I have really enjoyed raising my 4 beautiful girls (who are all now successful, intelligent, sporty, kind and caring young ladies in their own rights). We will be moving to the city/New Farm in January. I am looking for reliable part-time work through the week. In the past I have worked as a receptionist, secretary, and ran a dentists office to name a few. After having children I worked part-time in retail selling homewares and studied interior design. I currently sell retro furniture online. I have had one month "nanny experience" so far but have had plenty of experience with bringing up my own daughters and babysitting friends children!! Also helping in church-based activities looking after a number of children over the years. The thought of helping out a mum with time limitations and caring for her young ones while she lives out her career aspirations is appealing as that was me 20 years ago!! Would love to meet with you and discuss your needs further.

  • Michele - 57 year old Female   Last logged on 04-Feb-2019

Presently I am a Nanny for two lovely children from Mondays-Wednesdays which I intend to keep doing for the next few years for as long as they need me. I would also like to do more child care in the evenings whether it be 'on call' or permanent. I am married with two children ages 19 and 24 who both are studying and have performing careers. I have been living in New Farm for 7 years. My children are virtually independent now and I have a lot of time to myself. I do crafts and run High Tea parties in our house for which I get bookings for throughout the year. It is not a huge business as I only wish to keep it going as a hobby and to meet people. I really love this. I also convene a music competition for 4MBS Classic FM103.7 competition for young musicians to compete and be selected to compete in a national final with a prize of $10,000.00. I also convened the Brisbane Eisteddfod for 10 years which I built it up from 400 competitors each year to 1,000 competitors each year. I have a blue card for the purpose of convening and communicating with young people. Before I had children I was a legal secretary for 12 years. The reason I would like to apply to be a nanny is because I am longing to be a grandmother but I can't see that happening for another 5-10 years, so I would love to be doting and caring for other children. It was important to me that I was an 'at home mother' whilst my children were growing up because I had lost a baby at six month's pregnancy and felt the loss so strongly that I was possibly overprotective. As it turned out, my son did homeschooling because he needed the time for practice. He is now a concert pianist performing nationally and internationally. My daughter preferred to do normal schooling. I have encouraged both my children in all areas of extra curricular activities to find their interest which they both have done. I would share this caring and encouragement with any children I would be looking after. I feel I would be a good nanny as, apart of the regular duties, I would play games with them, take them for walks down to the park, introduce music, singing and dancing through interaction with musical instruments and dance/song videos. Essentially, I would put my heart into my job.

  • Helena - 21 year old Female   Last logged on 22-Jan-2019

Hello Families! I am looking for full time/part time nannying positions. I would love to have the opportunity to join a family who would appreciate some extra hands around their home. I believe working with children is extremely rewarding and something I am very interested in. I feel extremely comfortable caring for all ages as i am the oldest of 5 ranging from newborn- 17. Jobs i feel i can easily help with are caring for the children while also having a fun time with them, school drop offs and pick ups, taking to after school activities, bonding with the children, making food, cleaning of the home, and anything else you would require. I am extremely confident in caring for newborns, including; feeding, changing nappies, baths, play and sleeping routines. I am currently 20 years old and inspire to be a midwife after gaining some real life experience with kids before studying. I consider myself an extremely hard working and reliable individual, which my previous employers would vow for. I would like to mention that I am independently living out of home. I own a car and live centrally in Queensland about to make the move to Melbourne. I am First Aid qualified and in the process of renewing my CPR certificate. I am immediately available to work all day 5 days a week. Please don't hesitate to message me if you think i would suit your family! Helena

  • Tracey - 47 year old Female   Last logged on 12-Dec-2018

Hello parents! I am a seeking a position within a family that has the possibility of becoming a long term position. I would ideally love work in a sole carer position with a baby or siblings within the birth to five years age group. I myself have two adult daughters who live out of home and are busy travelling the world when they are not at uni. I have a reliable car and am comfortable driving with children to activities and appointments. I am just as happy catching the bus or train if this is preferred. I have 27 years of extensive experience across all ages and stages of childcare and have worked in many different types of services including family day care, long day care and nannying. I have high level understanding of the fundamentals of the early years development process and the importance of providing an emergent play based curriculum embracing the National Curriculum Framework, Early Learning Years Framework and the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines. I also adore the Reggio and Montessori pedagogies and love including aspects from these theories into my work with babies. I have a deep and long standing passion for early childhood and am wanting to secure a position that allows me to transfer these skills to a home based nanny role. It is important to me to work with a family that upholds an ethos that aligns with my own core values of respect for self and others, fairness and equity regardless of age, gender, ability, religion or culture and a commitment to embracing change and innovation to ensure growth of knowledge I am keen to grow and learn with a family about what is best for their child/ren and to to share my ideas and experiences and utelise my creativity. I would like to be a part of a home where family and nanny come together through trust, respect and professionalism to help create an environment that is nurturing and inspiring. A space for the child/ren to learn through play, positive relationships, empathy, independence and esteem. In my current role as a lead educator in long day care setting I provide safe care and learning environments with a team of educators for 50 0-2 year olds daily. I do through respecting individual children’s experiences, social constructs and traditions. I am able to identify, present and extend learning experiences and engage with children in relevant, interesting and worthy ways. I practice this by ensuring I communicate effectively with the children’s families and my fellow staff and document accordingly. I hope to bring this same style of mutual respect and professionalism into a family home. I understand the importance of privacy of information and always conduct myself in a trustworthy manner. I have a multitude of sleep and settling tricks up my sleeve and am an avid supporter of baby led weaning. I love to venture out and about so the little ones can see and smell the big world around them and feel it beneath their little toes. I love to encourage but to also give children enough space to investigate and explore at their own pace. Extending on their interests is a wonderful way to sustain their passion and create a life long love of learning. My communication style is positive and based on respect and empathy. I have high level written and verbal applications and will utilise these to document the child/ren's milestones and experiences through learning stories and photos collaborated into portfolios. This allows not only parents but also extended family and friends to be involved in a child's journey. Portfolios are big books of memories and love and can be cherished for a lifetime! I am very receptive to and welcoming of feedback and am committed to increasing my knowledge through regularly sourcing books, online articles and seminars to assist me with new ideas and concepts relative to the early learning years. I keep myself up to date with sector changes via applicable government websites and forums. Professional development is extremely important to me. I contribute to building rapport with any team I am a part of through positive communication styles surrounding successes and achievements but also surrounding improvement and change. A family is a little team of the most important kind. I believe it is imperative to uphold healthy communication to foster an ever evolving provision of high quality care and education for the child/ren. A good sense of humour goes a long way too! My commitment to open and gentle communication is of course used with extended family, friends, outside communities such as schools, clubs, places of worship and health care services. I am also excited about the increasingly recognised importance of sustainability practices within early childhood years and believe that nature and its elements of growth and time are in themselves wonderful educators. I hope to ascertain a position with a family that promotes this. I love to recycle and reuse and grow as much as practicable. I am consistently inspired by a child's ability to inquire and inspire and I love the truly emergent and ever evolving wheel of investigation and learning that comes from children of all ages. I am excited to have the possibility to collaborate with a family to create a safe, loving and rich learning environment for their child/ren. Thank you for taking the time to read my application and I look forward to your response.
